Utility Box Art Program

The City of Fayetteville is actively involved with programs that bring public art to our community. The Utility Box Art Program is a graffiti abatement initiative of the Keep Fayetteville Beautiful Committee and Fayetteville Police Department’s Community Policing Division.

The Utility Box Art Program fulfills the Keep Fayetteville Beautiful mission, “Helping create pride and responsibility in our community environments.” The program started in 2013, working with local artists to paint the boxes. It has been extremely successful and discourages graffiti, tagging, and vandalism on utility boxes. Donations from citizens and community organizations make the program possible by supplying artists with paint and materials. Please contact Brian Pugh is you would like to donate to the proCall For Artists - Utility Box Artgram.

Artists can participate in this program to display their art on utility boxes by submitting existing work or new work to the Keep Fayetteville Beautiful Board of Directors. This project is open to all artists and artist teams, including high school and university students. All applicants, without regard to race, sex, religion, nationality, origin, sexual orientation, or disability will be considered.

This is a volunteer project, in which artists donate their talents to beautify Fayetteville by giving the community art that celebrates recycling, nature, or Fayetteville history.  Funds allotted to this project are for supplies only.
